I’m an avid makeup and beauty product collector and have been for a long time. Ever since I realised the power of makeup, how it can enhance your best features and hide the not so great features, it can change the way you look at yourself and completely transform yourself.

As my love for makeup has grown and grown over the years, I’ve had my fair share of makeup mistakes and mishaps. But I’ve also quickly become very knowledgeable on what works and what doesn’t. This is what inspired me to write this blog post, I wanted to share five of my favourite makeup products that haven’t failed me once.

To me, complexion products are the most important when it comes to creating an amazing makeup look. It creates a flawless canvas, brightens, conceals, and structures the face.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation: This has been a staple for me for years! I have diverted from this foundation a few times but I’ve always come back to this one. Why? Because I can always rely on it to give me a flawless complexion without caking my face with a heavy foundation. It’s full coverage but is still buildable, and leaves a “barely there” feeling on the skin. P.s. It smells amazing!

Rimmel Stay-Matte Pressed Powder: This is a well-known staple product for many makeup enthusiasts, and if you’ve tried it I’m sure you’ll understand why! It’s affordable, it’s translucent, it’s not messy or cakey and perfect for setting foundation and concealer. I personally love the matte look so this is without a doubt always in my makeup bag!

NARS “orgasm” blush: Again, this product is a cult favourite and I’m sure you’ve at least heard of it! Known as the “authority” of blushes, it’s an iconic peachy pink shade with a hint of shimmer. It’s a universal shade that compliments any skin tone, highly pigmented while leaving a natural finish on the cheeks.

Eyes and brows are also important to me when creating my makeup look for the day. Eyes can complete the look in ways that other facial features can’t, and the brows can beautifully frame the face. So to me finding products that worked well to help these stand out was crucial.

Chanel Inimitable Intense Volume Length Curl Separation: I’ve tried many mascaras, both high end and high street, and I’ve never tried anything like this. It’s easy to be a bit sceptical about a product that claims to achieve everything you would want, like this one does. But it really does do everything it says on the box. I love the brush; it’s a plastic brush with flexible elastomer which evenly coasts even those hard to get lashes. It’s not one of those mascaras that dry out after two months; it lasts a long time which is very useful to me. It’s one of my absolute favourite mascaras and it’s always in my makeup bag.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade (Chocolate Brown): I’ve already written and raved about this particular product, and I have to say if I was stranded on a deserted island this is definitely something I would need to bring! If you’re anything like me you’re obsessed with eyebrows, and to me the ABH Dip Brow Pomade is perfect for both beginners and experts. It’s a perfect smudge proof creamy formula which will completely transform the look of your brows.

So those are just five of my must-have makeup products that I absolutely cannot live without! There are so many more must-have products that I’d love to share with you, so if you like these kind of blog posts please let me know and I’ll write some more for you!

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all well!

In this blog post I wanted to tell you about one makeup product in particular that I couldn’t live without!

Chanel’s Inimitable Intense Volume, Length and Curl Separation Mascara! (Quite a mouth full!)

I absolutely adore Chanel makeup products. Although there are definitely some amazing bargains out there in the world of makeup and beauty, sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

As many of you can probably relate, I’m on a constant, never-ending quest to search for the perfect mascara, one that lengthens my lashes perfectly and creates dramatic volume and curl without having to layer coats on and end up looking like spiders legs!

I’ve tried bundles of different mascaras, ranging from high end to drug store, mascaras that offer different things for the lashes like extreme length or extreme volume. One day I decided I’d try out a mascara from one of my favourite makeup brands, which anyone who knows me well knows that’s Chanel!

I have to say the price did put me off a bit, I just couldn’t really justify spending £25 on a mascara. But because other mascaras just weren’t working for me, I finally parted with my money and gave it a try. I can’t tell you how happy I’ve been with that decision! I’ve genuinely never had a better mascara and I can say with complete confidence that it was worth every penny!

First let’s talk about the packaging; the mascara comes in a sleek and sophisticated black tube, with its iconic Chanel logo on the top of the lid. The brush is a simple plastic brush with quite short bristles, I have to say I’ve seen better mascara brushes, like Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara with the domed tip that means you can get hold of those pesky little lashes! Unfortunately this mascara doesn’t have the unique domed brush, but that doesn’t mean it can’t do the job!

The mascara itself is easy to apply, I’ve never experienced any problems with smudging and the consistency isn’t gloopy like a lot of other mascaras out there! It manages to last me quite a long time, I’m sure you also understand the frustration of parting with your money for an expensive mascara, for it to just dry out within a few weeks. This mascara takes a while to dry out, so I definitely think it’s worth the money just for that alone. Finally, the finishing product after just a couple of coats gives me a false-lash effect (without them looking like spider’s legs!) with beautiful curl and separation to them, as well as length and volume!

Chanel’s Inimitable Intense Volume Mascaras certainly does what it says on the tube, and I believe it’s second to none!

“Every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway” – Coco Chanel

First things first, I’m a Chanel girl. Unfortunately I don’t own a Chanel bag, nor do I own 10 pairs of Chanel sunglasses (or even just one pair for that matter), but I LOVE their makeup!

I don’t constantly cover my face in expensive makeup, but I do believe that if a girl should indulge in one expensive makeup product, I strongly believe it should be the foundation!

To me, having a flawless complexion is the key to creating the perfect makeup look.  I’ve tried a number of foundations in the past, and personally nothing beats Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua!

I’ve been wearing this foundation for over a year, and now that I’ve been wearing this for such a long time, I don’t think its possible try another foundation!

Its “new generation texture” gives your complexion a “second skin” look, evening out your skin and giving it a fresh and energised appearance.

The fluid is light and ultra-fine, which is great for an everyday foundation! There’s nothing worse than the feeling of heavy makeup on your skin all day!

One of my personal favourites about Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua is the smell! It’s got a light, floral fragrance to it which makes it such a joy to put on every day.

A down side to this foundation is the small selection of colour shades, which there are only 9. To some people this won’t be a problem, and for me it isn’t really either since I’m almost always the lightest shade. But when you compare the colour selection to that of Mac foundations, there isn’t much to choose from. I would recommend trying one or two different shades with a makeup artist before you purchase, better safe than sorry!

On the whole, this foundation is a complete staple for my makeup bag; I really think I would be lost without it! Yes it is expensive, but it’s seriously everything you could ask for in a foundation. Try it, you’ll love it!
